WorldTech, Inc. was launched in March 2002 by five former senior Pentagon officials. Three of the founders have extensive experience in foreign military sales and were responsible for about $6.5 billion per year in U.S. foreign military sales. The other two founders are engineers with backgrounds in cost analysis, requirements analysis and technology commercialization. The founding members knew that one of the most pressing needs of the defense community was to simply keep up with the number of inventions emerging around the world on a daily basis.
Earl Industries, LLC is a
privately-held company with over 900 employees and 2006 revenues
topping $280 million. For the past several years, it has been one of
the U.S. Navy's top 50 prime contractors, ranking 32nd in revenues in
2006. Earl specializes in ship repair, alterations and modernization.
It is located in five strategic locations, including Portsmouth,
Virginia (its Headquarters location); Mayport, Florida; San Diego,
California; Mobile, Alabama; and Bremerton, Washington. In recent
years, Earl Industries has diversified its engineering and
manufacturing capabilities to include custom containerization and
aerospace parts machining. In 2006, Earl created a technology division
dedicated to advanced technology research and development to meet the
increasing demands of the aerospace, defense and homeland security
industries. The firm's current focus is on C4ISR, net-centric
operations, information analytics and semantics.
WorldTech International, LLC was formed in 2007 as a joint venture between WorldTech, Inc. and Earl Industries, LLC. The purpose was to expand upon the success of the product and service offerings of WorldTech, Inc, with a particular focus on the premier New Technology Opportunity Network (NEWTON).
When introduced in
2006, companies in the Earl Industries family of companies and
WorldTech, Inc. were working along parallel paths in the area of
information analytics and trying to make emerging technology
information more accessible, available and usable. Both companies
realized the value of partnering, so they formed a joint venture to
further their respective goals.
